Why we chose Florence + The Machine - Drumming Song

Our final choice for the music video we would be shooting was florence and the Machine - Drumming Song.

We decided on this song because of several reasons; it's an upbeat song which is what we orginially wanted so we felt comfortable filming it and we had a variety of ideas that would only fit with upbeat songs. The song is also sung by a girl which made it easier for us to choose who to have as our singer.

Some of the ideas we had for the music video were to locate it in a foresty area, or near a church because it is such a dramatic song which fits well with a forest scene. The idea of the more upbeat parts was to have the lead singer, and maybe some of the other band members running through the forest with flashes of footage of bear feet running, the singer singing, and dark/dramatic forest scenes. This would create a suspensful feeling for the viewer.
Another idea was to have the singer in floaty dresses to create a flowy feeling. Dresses would also be a good contrast between the darkness of the forest/churchyard and the bright colours of the dresses. It would also help the viewer to focus on the subject rather than what is going on around her all the time.
